Announcing Terri Blackstock's New, Improved Web Site!

I’m so excited to announce that my new web site has finally launched. One of my favorite features is the Media Player which allows you to listen to mp3’s of interviews and podcasts about my books. If you have a book group, feel free to use the podcasts for your discussions. Since I can’t be there to answer questions about the book, this is the next best thing. I’ll be adding podcasts about other books periodically.

Dawn's Light

Dawn’s Light

Thanks to you, Dawn’s Light is a best-seller. And we’re seeing sales of the other three books picking up, too, as you tell others about the books. Here’s hoping the Restoration Series will impact readers in a way that will prepare them for physical disaster, as well as their eternal future.

What I’m Working On

Double Minds

My book Double Minds is in production now, and will be released in February. Check out the new cover. People sometimes ask me if I hire my own artists. The answer is that my publisher, Zondervan, has an amazing art department. They run several choices of covers by me for each book, and I choose the one I like best. For Double Minds, this process was easy, because I loved the first one they showed me. It looks like a golden ribbon swirling down, but it’s actually a guitar. It was perfect for this story of Parker James, a Nashville-based singer/songwriter trying to make it in Christian music. When a co-worker is murdered, Parker realizes that she may have been the intended victim.

Double Minds will be a stand-alone novel, available in both hardcover and paperback. Meanwhile, as I wait for its release, I’m hard at work on Intervention, another stand-alone novel that will release later in 2009.

Zondervan First Novel Contest

In celebration of the 40th anniversary of Mount Hermon’s Christian Writers Conference, Zondervan is sponsoring the Mount Hermon/Zondervan First Novel Competition. For thirty-nine years, Mount Hermon has created an exhilarating laboratory for training writers, whether beginning or professional. They provide a rare opportunity for writers to test their skills under the guidance of professional writers, to check their message alongside Jesus’ teachings, and to challenge the marketplace by sharing and placing their manuscripts with our editors and publishers.

The Mount Hermon/Zondervan First Novel Competition is open to writers who have attended a Mount Hermon Writer’s Conference or who are registered for the 2009 conference. The writer must not be published—fiction or non-fiction, print or electronic. In addition to the opportunity for their work to be published by Zondervan, the writer has the opportunity for unbiased feedback on their work by editors and experienced judges.

Defined broadly, this will be a work of fiction written for a popular audience. Zondervan will announce the winner at the 2009 Mount Hermon Writer’s Conference. The author winning the prize will enter into a publishing agreement with Zondervan and receive a $10,000 advance against royalty, subject to the terms of the publishing agreement.

Submissions for the 2009 Mount Hermon/Zondervan First Novel Competition will be accepted from September 1, 2008 through November 1, 2008.

Among the judges will be some of Zondervan’s top fiction authors, including Karen Kingsbury, Brandilyn Collins, and Terri Blackstock. For more information, please visit their Web site and click on “08 Fiction Contest.”
